Where do all the hair pins and bobby pins go?

hair comb tuck replaced all my hair pins

Where do all the hair pins and bobby pins go?  A pack of thirty lasts me a couple of weeks at best.  I haven’t found the real answer to this question (Maybe a leprechaun that has a craving taste for bobby pins that will never be fulfilled?).  But I did find some hair accessories that keep my hair place without getting lost.  You can find them here.   The prices start at $2.99 which considering I used to spend $1 twice a month on hair pins is relatively cheap.  They are Made in the USA.  Another reason I made the switch was because if the little plastic ends are loose or if there are rough spots on the metal I end up pulling some of my hair out with the hairpins.

Wigo Flat Iron Review

I have used many flat irons but this is the best so far for my hair.  It is called the Wigo Pink Zebra 1” Flat Iron.  This is what it looks like.  I really like the results and my hair has not been this straight in years.  I did not pre-straighten my hair with a blow dryer.  The photos show my hair after being straightened.

Length Update

I trimmed my hair almost two months ago to get rid of my brittle damaged ends.  So, my hair is not much longer.  The front of my hair is 6.5 inches.  The back of my hair measured from the nape is 6 inches (after trimming it was only 4.75 inches).  The back of my hair measured from the crown is 7.5 inches.  Although I did not retain much length my hair feels much healthier and stronger.  I am no longer using any commercial rinse out conditioners.  I am still working on my regimen but that is the biggest change so far.  Also, I thought my hair was all 4b but since I stopped using conditioners my hair is now a 4b,4a,3c mix but it is still mostly 4b.

My Coconut and Lime Relaxer Results

The recipe can be found here
I did not use olive oil or cornstarch like the recipe calls for.  I left it in my hair for three hours under a plastic cap and scarf.  After I rinsed the coconut milk from my hair appeared more shrunken than usual.  After towel drying, I applied a tablespoon of olive oil to my hair, detangled with a wide toothed wooden comb, and brushed my hair into a bun.  As you can see in the above picture my texture after styling appeared straighter than usual.  The results only lasted until my next wash 2 days later.

My Everyday Hair Bun

I wear my hair in a bun every day.  Mostly because I don't want to spend too much time styling my hair.

I used a few hair pins to keep my hair from looking too puffy.

This is How I Trim My Split Ends

Because individual hair strands vary in length and split ends can be found at any point.  I trim my split ends using the following method:

  • I take a small section of hair and detangle

  •

  • I carefully twist them in a gentle downward motion.
Any split ends will automatically stick out.

  •

  • I carefully snip into the split ends with sharp scissors. Don't cut right through the twist; just cut the actual split ends to remove the damaged cuticles and give a natural layered effect.

Healthy Hair Journey Starting Pick and Length Check

I joined the Summer Growth Spurt Challenge on Long Hair Care Forum, which starts June 21.  Details on my hair regimine will be posted soon.  The first picture is of my length and the second is a picture of my hair texture.  My hair is layered.  My hair's shortest layer in the back is 5" and the longest layer is 6".  In the front my hair is an average of 7".
